This is great news! I am a huge believer in allowing density where density belongs – in the city. Having grown up in the country and seeing the pressures put on wildlife and the small towns in the suburbs since returning to the city 20 years ago, I am happy that Seattle is going to allow for large lots to create small rental units. This is a great way to create some affordable housing inside the city limits!

Hi Wendy ~ That's really exciting news. I'm in Cambridge and our city planners often seem to be ruling against density unfortunately. I love these backyard cottages – I call them "tucked behind houses" – ours were typically built 100 years ago or so. Good to know Seattle "gets it".
