Seattle Green Factor is nationally recognized

I’ve not actually talked much about Seattle’s Green Factor initiative, and I will work on a post about that.

In the meantime, the American Society of Landscape Architects awarded the Green Factor a 2010 ASLA Professional Award in the Planning and Analysis category. The ASLA Washington State chapter awarded a Research and Communications award to “Functional Landscapes: Assessing Elements of Seattle’s Green Factor” by The Berger Partnership.

See more about the Seattle Green Factor program online.

There is an incentive for building green in King County – we’re talking real $$$

The King County/Seattle Built Green® incentive provides funding for single-family, townhome, multi-family residential, remodel and community development projects to help offset the cost of certifying and designing innovative green projects throughout Seattle and King County. Eligible projects may receive up to $20,000. Grants are funded through the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Water and Land Resource Division and Seattle Public Utilities.

As an added benefit to incentive recipients, Built Green and the King County EcoCool Remodel program are partnering to make an online TV series featuring the projects called EcoCribz. EcoCribz episodes will feature local contractors and homeowners who are working on green remodels.

My blog migration to WordPress

My blog has just migrated to a new platform after three years on Blogger.com. Blogger stopped supporting FTP to independent URLs (in this case, GreenSpacesRealEstate.com) and I did not want to give up my name and go to a “blogspot” address. So thanks to my husband and his technical support, I am on a new platform that might take me awhile to figure out. I am excited to finally be on WordPress since I have heard so many good things about it but couldn’t make the change sooner since it was so much work for Steve to do (I have two blogs).

I love the new look – I will be tweaking it a bit over the next new few days to get it to where I think it is the easiest to read and navigate. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Have a great week!!
